Installation
How to install the RapidPipeline Blender Plugin.
1. Subscribe to a Team or Studio Plan
- Sign up for a RapidPipeline account
- Upgrade the account to a Team or Studio plan
- If a RapidPipeline subscription is already attached to the account, and if the plan includes API access, the RapidPipeline Blender Plugin is available for use.
2. Download the Installer
- Sign in to the RapidPipeline Web Platform.
- Click on the account email at top right.
- Choose Plugins
- Under Downloads click the desired operating system link to download the installer.
3. Install the plugin
caution
- Uninstall earlier versions of the plugin before installing a new version.
- The RapidPipeline Blender Plugin is currently supported in versions of Blender 4.2 or later.
- If you need to install our plugin for an earlier version please contact support@dgg3d.com
tip
The steps here are same as installing any blender add-on from disk. Refer to Blender 4.2 manual on installation of Blender add-ons from disk refer to: https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/4.2/editors/preferences/addons.html#add-on-settings
Go to
Edit -> Preferences -> Install from disk
Browse and select the (.zip) file of the plugin you downloaded
Activate the installed plugin
Once the installer has completed, the RapidPipeline API Token will be needed.
4. Enter the RapidPipeline API Token
- Open Blender.
- In the 3d Viewport go to Object -> RapidPipeline Processor.
- Enter the RapidPipeline token in the text field when asked.
- If there is no token available, one can be created by clicking
Create API Token
.
- If there is no token available, one can be created by clicking
Congratulations! The RapidPipeline Blender Plugin is now ready to be used.
Known limitations
- The RapidPipeline Blender Plugin is currently only available for Windows.
- The RapidPipeline Blender Plugin only imports presets created for RapidPipeline 3D Processor 7.x. On the RapidPipeline Web Platform, the toggle for Preview New Settings must be enabled for presets to be generated in 7.x format.
- Blender modifiers will be ignored during export. Modifiers need to be manually applied before using the plugin.
- Some materials are not supported:
- The plugin exchanges data with Blender via glTF format.
- Supported are Pricipled BSDF node, image Textures, color Attributes, etc.
- All procedural materials within Blender are currently unsupported.
- The import of CAD formats and CAD Settings are currently not supported.
- UI element scaling may have issues, especially in higher DPI monitors.
