Visual QC on Optimization

We have been working on presenting you the right tools to QC your optimized outputs as easy as possible. Now you are able to compare input and output models side by side regardless of the 3D format. Remember that you also receive a quantitative similarity score for the renders. This score is exposed both in the UI and the API.

Notes

  • For CAD inputs, we use the tesselated model for rendering
  • For DCCI inputs (.max), this feature will be available in the upcoming weeks

Asset Scale Visualized

We have improved on how our asset visualizer looks. We have made the visual dimensions a lot easier to understand.

Scale Visualizer

Updates on New Settings

  • Visual improvements on the left frame
  • We improved the expand/collapse actions
  • Decreased spacing to fit more settings into readable area
  • Export section is presented a bit better now

Let us know your feedback on how you like these settings in general. They are going to be the default settings for our 3D processor in very near future.

Updates on New Settings

We have made a few minor improvements on the new settings:

  • You can now save the settings as custom presets and run them. Remember that we are still iterating on these settings and by default we would recommend using the legacy settings.
  • Added expand/collapse actions to make it slightly easier to navigate around settings
  • Added the ability to rename output assets based on rules:
    • Can include preset name
    • Can include model id
    • Can include a custom string
  • Added a color picker for material assignment area
  • Made some minor styling adjustments for fonts and indentation

We plan to do a much bigger iteration on the UI/UX of these settings in the near term. Until then, please make sure you share your feedback with us by emailing us or using the in-app chat.

In case you missed it, make sure you see the demo in our earlier update

This release has been special for us. While we officially launched RapidPipeline, we also provided you with a few preview features that already provides you the insight of where we are headed and we would love to hear your thoughts.

New Settings Preview

This is a preview feature ⚠️

This feature is not its finished version and we are open to learn what you think. Feel free to share your feedback as a support ticket, through our in-app chat, or via support@dgg3d.com

RapidPipeline now provides you with deeper control for processing your models.

Our new settings are organized into 7 steps:

  1. Import: Tailor your import settings
  2. Scene Graph Flattening: Gain full control over your scene graph, specifying how nodes are merged or retained.
  3. 3D Edit: Modify assets with options like generating new UVs, assigning new textures, centering the model, and more.
  4. Mesh Culling: Removal of small features or invisible interior geometry.
  5. Optimize: Optimization of mesh and material data, including options for decimation, remeshing, texture atlas baking, uv aggregation, and more.
  6. Modifiers: Apply additional modifications to the entire 3D model, such as screen size-adaptive or MB size-adaptive optimization.
  7. Export: Customize your export options.

Whether you need quick results or want to control every detail, we provide three setting levels:

  • Basic and Advanced settings allow you to easily to get started and get good results, while offering more control to advanced users
  • Expert settings offer the most fine-grained control over any optimization process and any other 3D operations (such as mesh culling, format export, compression, etc.)

QC Scores for Optimizations

Automated QA in RapidPipeline

RapidPipeline now offers quantitative evaluation for your output models. For any newly optimized model, you will find an evaluation score in the sidebar, along with a comprehensive HTML report displaying the image differences.

Please note that we are continuously improving the scoring system and the presentation of these results in future iterations.

To help you onboard with this feature, we prepared this short tutorial.

Starter Trials

RapidPipeline Starter Trial

Earlier on we had introduced our pricing plans. Since then RapidPipeline was accessible for new users as part of our Free Open Beta Trial. Now with the official launch in place, we are providing any newly signed up users to try our Starter plan for 15 days without a need for a credit card.

While the new users get the trial automatically,f or existing users without subscription, they would need to activate their trial by:

  1. Logging into their account
  2. Go to settings page
  3. Click Start Trial button

In-app Chat

We have integrated with an in-app chat solution so that we could help you out as fast as possible! If you have any questions at any point, click the bubble on the bottom right corner and let us help you out!

Wireframe Mode

We improved our wireframe mode. Let's know what you think about it! Feel free to suggest improvements to us by reaching out to support@dgg3d.com.

Search UX

Search keywords are now displayed in pills that you can remove. This visualizes how our search works in a more intuitive way.

Show Only Outputs

We added a toggle for you to see filter your assets only to output models. In this view your assets will be:

  1. Sorted by creation date so you can find the latest ones easier
  2. Then select and download them altogether faster

Bigger Batches

Previously we had limited our UI to select assets that are limited within 1 page. This meant that you could only select and process 10 assets at a time.

Good news is that now you can select asset across pages and take action on them altogether!

Domain Changes

In case you haven't noticed it already. RapidCompact is becoming RapidPipeline.

As part of this we are moving our domains:

  • app.rapidcompact.com -> app.rapidpipeline.com
  • api.rapidcompact.com -> api.rapidpipeine.com
Don't Worry

This change should not impact any of your existing setup. We will simply forward your api calls from api.rapidcompact.com to api.rapidpipeline.com.

Pricing Plans

We have listened to all of you and came up with 3 plans that will hopefully make both individual artists and larger teams happier.

What's new?

  1. You will no longer pay for optimizations. All plans are based on imported model counts.
  2. All plans have pay-as-you-go option. You will be billed for additional usage in your next invoice.
  3. With yearly subscriptions, you get all your yearly entitlements at once. With the Studio plan, you have 1800 imports per year granted to you on Day 1.

Do you want to learn more? Visit our pricing page for all details.

Single Sign-on

We thought it would be nice that you could sign up and log in securely with a Google, Microsoft, or Github account. So far we can tell you really like to use it.

Quick Actions

Click to process your asset

We noticed most of you run your models one by one in the UI. As a result, we thought it would be nice to give you a button, to get you where you need to be as fast as possible.

  • For input assets, we added a quick action button to process it with a preset
  • For output assets, we added a quick action button to download all outputs

Downloading a Specific Format

Download output format

We hear you do not always want to download all exported formats at once. Click the format tag to instantly download the optimized 3D model in that format. Enjoy quick and easy access to your models!

UV Coordinates Mode in 3D Viewer

RapidPipeline 3D Viewer displaying UV Coordinates

Our 3D Viewer now features a UV Map Grid. With this new mode, you can render a UV map grid directly on your model to see exactly how textures are applied.
